Leanne Palmisano- Director of Tennis

2018 marks Leanne’s 29th season as Director of Tennis at Crestmoor. Originally from Albuquerque, NM, Leanne was a nationally ranked junior and collegiate player. A standout at the University of New Mexico, she became the first female player in school history to advance to the NCCA Division I Tennis Championships. Leanne served as the Men’s and Women’s Head Tennis Coach at the University of Denver, coaching teams to conference championships titles in three of the four seasons she was there. In addition to developing a thriving tennis program at Crestmoor, Leanne also served as Team Colorado coach and USTA Intermountain Zonal coach for many years, working with the top junior players from Colorado and the section. Leanne was inducted into the UNM Athletic Hall of Fame in 2008.

Leanne’s favorite player is Serena Williams because of her athleticism and her amazing ability to rise to the challenge. Serena has grown up a lot and has overcome enormous adversity on her way to becoming the greatest player of all time.  $80 per hour - private

Asfaw Aregahegan
Asfaw is in his third year as a tennis professional at Crestmoor. He began playing tennis at the age of 12 in his home country of Ethiopia, where he quickly rose to the top of the ranks. He represented his country on their national team for over twenty years and was one of the top three players to win tournaments for his country. As one of the best in Ethiopia, Asfaw was a member of the Davis Cup Team. A very big deal!
Asfaw’s favorite player is Roger Federer because he has every shot in the game. He likes how Roger sets up a point to have the opportunity to close it out. $65 per hour - private

Chad Edwards is a native of Denver, Colorado. He grew up playing competitive tennis as a youth and graduated from East High School. Chad played collegiate tennis and golf at Grambling State University, where he graduated in 2007. He has served the Crestmoor community for 20 years working in several capacities; night man, lifeguard, swim instructor, and tennis instructor. He is currently rated as a 5.0 and enjoys playing league tennis and tournaments. When Chad is not at Crestmoor, he works as a P.E. instructor with the DSST network and enjoys coaching basketball, golfing, fishing, chess, and spending time with family and friends.

TJ Braxton
TJ is from Denver and grew up learning and playing tennis at Crestmoor. He was a four-year varsity letterman for the East High School tennis team and was a Western Slope Invitational finalist in doubles. During his high school tennis career, TJ was a semi-finalist at the high school state championships, both at the No. 3 and No. 1 doubles positions. In 2016, TJ was named East High’s Most Valuable Player.
TJ's favorite player is Gael Monfils because of his athleticism and showmanship.

Charlie Franks
A Denver native, Charlie contributes his love for tennis to growing up at Crestmoor. He has been consistently ranked among the top 10 in USTA Intermountain rankings since the 12-and-under age division. Charlie is currently ranked No. 2 in Colorado in the Tennis Recruiting for the class of 2018. He was the 2016 USTA Colorado Mike, Gene & Maurice Reidy Award recipient, given in recognition of exemplary sportsmanship, leadership, and achievement both on and off the court.  

Charlie favorite player is Alexander Zverev. He believes he will be the No. 1 player in the world in the next two to three years. $40 per hour - private
